What your water's been doing to your house.
Scale and staining build up so slowly you stop noticing. Weeks after the right treatment, you notice.
Showerheads & fixtures
Hardness minerals crust onto everything water touches. A softener stops new scale immediately, and existing buildup dissolves over the following weeks.
Sinks, toilets & laundry
Orange-brown staining is dissolved iron oxidizing on your porcelain and clothes. Iron filtration removes it before it ever reaches a fixture.

The name is the business plan.
Water treatment has a reputation problem: scare tactics, inflated "list prices," and commissioned closers who won't leave your kitchen. We started Honest Water Company to be the opposite of that.
We're a local Western Mass company. Our neighbors are our customers, and we'd like to keep it that way for a long time — which only works if every recommendation is one we'd make for our own homes.
-

"You're all set" is a real answerIf testing says you don't need treatment, that's what we'll tell you.
Proudly serving Western Massachusetts.
From the Pioneer Valley to the Berkshires — Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, and Berkshire counties.
Don't see your town? If you're in Western Mass, chances are we cover you — just ask.
Straight answers, in advance.
I'm on a private well — do I need different treatment than city water?
Usually, yes. Wells in Western Mass commonly show hardness plus iron, manganese, sulfur odor, or low pH, so treatment gets matched to a well test. City water is treated at the plant but often still hard and chlorinated. Either way, we test first — the water tells us what it needs.
What does the free water test cover?
In-home testing for hardness, iron, pH, and total dissolved solids, with results explained on the spot. For wells we can also arrange certified lab testing for things like bacteria, arsenic, and PFAS when it makes sense.
How long does installation take?
Most softener and filtration installs are done in half a day. Under-sink reverse osmosis systems typically take one to two hours. We leave the work area clean and walk you through the system before we go.
What maintenance does a water softener need?
Mainly keeping salt in the brine tank — a few bags every month or two for a typical family. Beyond that, an occasional checkup keeps the valve and resin healthy. We service what we install, and we'll show you everything you can do yourself.
Do you really tell people they don't need anything?
Yes — it happens regularly. If your numbers come back fine, we say so, you keep the results, and the visit costs nothing. It's the reason neighbors trust us with the homes that do need treatment.
